Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
This is your chance to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with savings of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self vacuum near me-empties and refills its water tank.
- Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its most notable advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. This uses AI to detect objects like charging cords and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you photos of the object it comes across so you can tell it to avoid it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills easily, leaving no trace that it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app which lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum areas you do not want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off using your voice.
The design is also better than the competition. It has a sleek, high-end piece that appears like a toy rather than the loud and annoying robot. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty and is ideal to reduce the time spent cleaning.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ quickly took away dirt, dust, and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one spot instead of scattering it all over the floor. It even could take small gravel and sand, which most other robots aren't able to do. And all this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.
The j7+, though not as intelligent as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and can't clean the stairs, is still a good option for those who want both a vacuum and a mop. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to know whether the update is working until you've seen it in the action.
- Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best choice is probably one that is a hybrid. This type of robot typically has a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your house simultaneously. They also come with various additional features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. The negative is that they tend to be expensive at retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our favorite robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't disappoint. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it doesn't have some of the premium features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great choice for homes that have lots of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums can really fail. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses along walls or in corners.
The Q5+, just like other Roborock products, can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. Through the app, you can begin and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones and alter your home map or re-label rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once in place, emptying the bin is relatively simple. It comes with a huge LCD screen that is very useful in setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This feature isn't necessary for the majority of people, but it can help you easily keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
- Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and functionality are some of the top available however it's expensive.
It's a tiny base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions, and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tried that does a really good job of cleaning up debris from unfinished floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, meaning it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the home. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for an automated vacuum that can do it all.
If you're looking to cut costs or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are many other options on the market. A lot of eufy models are significantly less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example, is cheaper, but offers more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, which provides the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.
- Eufy RoboVac G30
eufy is an Anker company with a long history of creating robot vacuums that have the right combination of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning on hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at a reasonable price. It's easy to set it up, simply snap on one of the side brushes and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock should be placed near an outlet with enough space to move.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise It can be placed under couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design is a little more modest than other models, with a sleek black finish and three physical buttons: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.
The main feature that distinguishes the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of non-movable objects that are in its path, remembering what it's already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. When it's time to recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning where it started.
The elegant G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and performs better on unfinished carpet or floors with low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require to be empty as often and comes with a set of boundaries that ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 however is less expensive and a lot simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't require as frequent emptying and it struggles less with bulky material such as cereal.
